as history is written
and made short of full stories
while hanging in abeyance
does not continue
its tamper with brainwaves
which causes us to turn on each other
no wonder
long pauses between statements required
the infamous
malicious undertone
causes one to avoid fireside chats
that would stay between us
heaven’s helped thus
far too far
from perfection
humanity has erected
an institution as ubiquitous
as air
and politics is its Name-o
rehearsed through life like B-I-N-G-O
and when the bell Bings
we go
in single file lines
and call it norm
but occasionally
heartbeats skip
change rhythms
throwing songs off beat
yet forget
they too once skipped
past empathy
and are unable to reach
